Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya is the manifested form of the thoughts of Yugrishi Vedmoorti Taponisht Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya and the Sankalpa of Param Vandaniya Mata Bhagwati Devi Sharma Vivekananda Jayanti in Dsvv Campus The Vivekananda Jayanti was celebrated on 12th January 2006 in the DSVV Campus with full energy enthusiasm and devotion towards the leader of the Youth Swami Vivekananda. A Number of Cultural Programmes were organized on this occasion starting in the morning till late night. In the Morning the programme started with Guru Vandana by Durgesh Upadhyay student of Theology and a Bangla Geet of Vivekananda sung by Shantanu Prasad followed by Debate Competition on the Topic 'How Indian Culture is competent in Solving the Contemporary Problems ' and a Speech Competition on the Topic 'Bileh se Vivekananda' in which the students of all the faculties participated and give arguments in favor and against the given topic. A Speech Competition for the Students of Gayatri Vidyapeeth was also organized in Hindi ,English and Sanskrit based on the Life of Swami Vivekananda. Guest Lectures were organized in the second half in which Guest Dignitaries were Dr. Ramakant Shukla HOD Sanskrit Department ,Rajdhani College Delhi ,Dr.Balak Dwivedi Principal Badrivishal PG College Farrukhabad and Dr. Badri Narain Mishra Principal Shri Krishna Degree College Kanpur. Dr. Ramakant Shukla gave a lecture on the Life of Swami Vivekananda and said that Swamiji was a very Intellectual Vibrant and highly Spiritual person who had a very good command over English and Hindi ,he prayed to the goddess Kali before giving the Speech at the Chicago Samelan and asked for the Divine Power in his Voice .He Said that we expect a lot from the Younger generation as only they can bring the change in the Society and Transform the Wickedness into Divinity .He also sang a Sanskrit song describing the Greatness of Indian Culture called ' Bhati me Bharatam '. In the Evening the programme started with Swagat Nritya based on the pragya geet 'Shat Shat tumko Pranam' followed by a short play named 'Bileh se Vivekananda' by the students of Gayatri Vidyapeeth. A solo Song 'Har Yug Ka Itihaas Uthao Yug Nirmata Rahi Jawani' was sung by DSVV Student Durgesh Upadhyay in the concluding part. In the end Dr.Pranav Pandya the Honorable Chancellor of DSVV gave away the prizes to the winners of Debate and Speech Competitions.
