Overview

The
University aims to further the understanding of the Ancient
Knowledge from the Rishi tradition that is currently forgotten
and inaccessible. This understanding will help us meet the
challenges of the current era like ecological imbalances,
physical and mental health problems, cultural devaluation,
collapse of the family system, etc as also advance the human
understanding of nature and its forces. The University will also
collaborate with its sister institute, "Brahmavarchas
Shodh Sansthan" towards these objectives. The research
activity at the University will be carried through the following
centers.
Ayurvedic
Research Center and Hospital:
Conduct
experiments on rare herbs and medicinal plants, and their
effects on human beings. This center will also host a 200 bed
hospital. Along with ayurvedic treatment, the hospital will also
perform Prana Chikitsa (Treatment through Vital Energy), Prakratic
Chiktsa (Treatment through nature), Surya Chikitsa (Treatment
through solar energy), Mantra Chikitsa (Treatment through
Mantras) and Mansik Chikitsa (Treatment through mental
healing)
Astrology
Research Center:
This
center will impart education and perform research on mathematics
and prediction science based on the ancient knowledge of
astrology. The center will investigate the positions of stars
and planets and their effects on the human life. This will also
host a powerful telescope atop a 90 feet high tower.
Meditation
and Mantra Science Research Center:
Humans
maintain their mental balance, keep their goals clear, use their
hidden latent and sublimen energies for the betterment of
society and humankind, this will be aim of the research being
carried out at this center.
Yagna
Science Research Center:
Founders of Gayatri Pariwar (Vedmurti Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya
and Mata Bhagvati Devi Sharma) had started the Mission of Yagna
for providing global outreach to the Divine Indian culture.
Besides purifying the environment, yagnas help in mental and
physical growth of a human being. With this aim, this center
would conduct research on the various effects of yagna, For this
purpose all the students and staff will participate in daily
yagna in the center compound. The center will also investigate
the effect of matras and herbs (used in the yagnas) on human
health and treatment of various diseases.

Shodh Sansthan |

Brahmavarchas
Shodh Sansthan was established at Haridwar on the banks of river
Ganga on the Gaytri Jayanti of 1979. It is about half a
Kilometer from Shantikunj. Its aim is to present scriptural
writings and suppositions in relation to the scientific
disciplines of today and to project out an alternative system of
medicine utilizing totally harmless herbal plants after
comprehensive scientific studies on healthy and ill human
subjects.
There
is a Photochemistry and Gas Analysis wing in the research
laboratory to assess the efficacy of the various uses of plant
ingredients. The purpose is to know as to what is their raw
material content in the beginning and what is left after they
have been fumigated. The Sadhaks are asked to inhale the
medicated fumes. The ash left over after the process is also of
medicinal value. At present, these effects are being monitored
only on healthy persons living for a prescribed period in the
Shantikunj Ashram campus.
There
is also a Psychometry lab to analyze the various Psychological
parameters. These tell about the aptitude, learning potentials
and the personality make up of the subject. The case is then
followed up at monthly intervals. During this process the
subject under goes thorough treatment with herbal preparations,
self-imposed diet restrictions and the Sadhna process of
Anusthan. The various parameters tell the progress of changes.
A
Sound Therapy lab uses the Oscilloscope to display the various
sound patterns of Veda Mantras. Sophisticated tests of coherent
and in- coherent Mantra Recitals are done here and the changes
in blood chemistry (especially the hormones) and other body
parameter are noted correspondingly.
A
modern Astronomical observatory has been erected at Gayatri
Nagar near Brahmavarchas Shodh Sansthan and a large herb garden
has been planned, where, rare and common, about 300 varieties of
herbs have been grown. The purpose is to provide herbs for
research work at Brahmavarchas Shodh Sansthan and also to
propagate selected 24 plants in the mass by a "Bare footed
doctor scheme". About 2400 sub-centers are already active
in the field through which the scheme is being propagated. More
information on Brahmavarchas Shodh Sansthan can be found here. |
